About the instructor:
Marta Afonso is a communication designer and the founder of Karaka atelier, created in 2015 — a creative studio specialized in manual textile printing. Based in Porto, Karaka develops collections, bespoke projects, and unique textile pieces for interior decoration, events, and collections, exploring the concept of exclusivity while integrating sustainable practices.

She holds a degree in Design from Escola Secundária Artística de Soares dos Reis, a Bachelor’s degree in Design from the University of Aveiro, a Master’s degree in Communication Design from ESAD – Escola Superior de Artes e Design (Matosinhos), and a postgraduate qualification in Textile and Fashion Design from IPCA (Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave).

Marta Afonso collaborates with several spaces located in the Miguel Bombarda Quarter.
