As part of the optional course Analysis and Creation of Film Music, ESMAE is presenting the project "Reinterpretations: New Music for Old Films", an exhibition of four silent short films from the 1920s with soundtracks composed by ESMAE students.
Unlike the traditional film-concert format, this presentation takes place in audiovisual mode, with pre-recorded music synchronized with the film, without any live performance component. It is a proposal that challenges students to engage with silent cinema through contemporary musical language, reflecting on the role of sound in the narrative and emotional construction of images.
