The earliest stories were born from the observation of nature - of the wind, the trees, the animals, and the cycles of day and night. Stories were told to explain the world, to teach, to protect, to make people laugh, and to lull them to sleep.
It is to this primordial place that BIBLLIOTERRA returns - the children’s and young people’s strand of BABELL - on 27 and 28 June, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Taking place along Avenida das Tílias, in the Gardens of the Palácio de Cristal, it is organised into five stations distributed throughout the space, structured around five universal themes: Stories to Explain the World; Stories to Teach; Stories to Protect; Stories to Make People Laugh; and Stories to Lull to Sleep.
BIBLLIOTERRA brings together authors, storytellers, illustrators, performers, and mediators, drawing on diverse artistic languages - from the spoken word to music, from the body to the image - to create a rich and plural experience of listening and storytelling. Among the names already confirmed are Alda Casqueira, Kiara Terra, Saphir Cristal, Virgínia Millefiori, Simão Bolívar, Bando dos Gambozinos, Anabela Dias, Constança Araújo, Fábio Supérbi, Rita Sineiro, Raquel Patriarca, Ana Rita Domingos, and Marta Pais de Oliveira.
To access BABELL sessions, even with a ticket in hand, you must always bring a book with you.
