Presentation of “Internal Geology” with Alfonso Borragán and Martin Howse
During his residency at AiR 351, Alfonso Borragán invites Martin Howse and explores the materiality of the encounter between the human and the geological through the ingestion and gestation of minerals within the body.
Both artists are immersed in a process of research into the generation of bodily stones outside the human organism, towards a direct physical experience of internal geological action.
“Internal Geology” will reveal this internal process in sound, image, and discussion, exploring accelerated crystallizations of bodily stones, brutal exoformations of the stomach, and bezoar animism.
In a presentation at MIRA on September 13 at 5 p.m., Borragán and Howse will share their actual research process on geological transformation, towards a new relationship between humans and the earth, invoking geological transformation as a potential and multiple way of living, digesting, and dying within new planetary and cosmic technological cycles.
