The Beira Interior Orchestral Ensemble brings together young musicians selected through rigorous biennial auditions and promotes premieres and commissions to Portuguese composers. This is what happens in this concert, in which it is welcomed by the Remix Ensemble and which includes recent scores by Luís Tinoco and Carlos Azevedo, as well as a joint creation by three other prominent composers on the national scene. The programme is enriched by an extraordinary work by Messiaen, which the composer himself compared to "a cathedral rose window of resplendent and invisible colours".
