60% is the percentage of cancer survivors after five years — a statistical figure that serves as the starting point for Nuno Pinheiro’s autobiographical exhibition.

Bringing together 60 images produced from the late 1970s to the present day, the exhibition proposes a visual journey through the construction of identity and personal growth. Through photography, the artist revisits experiences of survival, questions differences in the upbringing of girls and boys, reflects on the role of books, religion and a throwaway society, and explores the traces left by time and memory.

The exhibition stands out for the diversity of techniques and visual languages employed, ranging from documentary photography to architectural photography and large-format studio photography, from traditional black and white to a variety of Polaroid techniques.
