Lisbon, 1969. Marta (Maria Cabral), a beautiful young woman from the bourgeoisie, is looking for a new life away from her marriage and her petulant husband (Mário Jacques). She works as a ground stewardess for an airline and as a model for an advertising agency. The financial situation gets complicated and Marta gets involved in a web of dubious situations. She meets Victor Lopes (Miguel Franco), a smuggler whom life no longer surprises. Marta feels lost in her own contradictions and seeks solace in fleeting relationships.
