The PANGEA album is a metaphor for unity in combating the climate crisis, reflecting the contrasts of the Earth through the seasons and accelerating climate change. Driven by "eco-anxiety", Máximo explores the ecological and social crisis with a sensorial and impressionistic approach. The album includes tracks for each season performed together with Joppe van Noten (drums) and Jan Honnef (bass), plus an interlude with Selma Uamusse and a solo piano.
PANGEA performs on stage in a trio format and with an improvisational delivery, thus expanding the album's five tracks to create a more extensive narrative arc, making each performance unique, but maintaining the original structure. During the shows, there will be solo piano moments, including visits to the previous album, but also spoken word parts and exploration with electronics, synthesizers and pre-recorded tracks.
In addition to the music, the show will also have an audiovisual component created by Joana Cardoso and Rui Major, including new content and images from music videos made by various directors and artists, such as Raquel da Silva, João Pedro Vale and Nuno Ferreira, Paulo Lisboa, Paulo Castilho and Joana de Verona.
