The expressive power of the human voice serves as the foundation for a programme that brings together diverse cultures, styles and emotions. Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa features soprano Sílvia Sequeira, laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition (Belgium) and recipient of the ARIA Prize, in a concert that moves from the lyrical intensity of O mio babbino caro to the vibrant colours of Les Quatre Estacions, and concludes with a theme from the renowned musical Chess. A concert that reflects the spirit of solidarity of the season, inspired by the words of the ensemble’s associate conductor: “Peace is possible if we learn to love those who are different and think differently.”
